Neurodiversity
The evolving research and understanding of neurodivergence is allowing many people to develop new understandings of themselves and how they exist and interact with the world. Whether you are diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Giftedness, a learning disorder, or suspect you may fit into one of these categories, I see my role as helping you to understand yourself, find love and acceptance for yourself, and build on your strengths and abilities to allow you to live your life in meaningful and manageable ways.
Identity
Walker Percy said in Lost in the Cosmos, “Why is it that in your entire lifetime you will never be able to size yourself up as you can size up somebody else?” Therapy is a place for you to explore and build a better understanding of yourself. There are so many aspects to our identity, and I’m here to help you explore them all and reflect back to you what I see in you. Many of my clients are exploring their gender and/or sexual identities, others their personality and expression of themselves. When we have a better understanding of who we are, we often experience less anxiety and are able to move through our lives with more confidence and assurance.
Complex Trauma
For many, life has been full of traumatic experiences, often further complicated by the traumas of generations before us. Through extensive training and my own self-exploration, I have developed the skills and abilities to help you to process your experiences and find purpose in moving forward, within the context of a safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship.
Spirituality
For many people, making meaning of our existence leads us into the realm of spirituality. This can look so many different ways - being part of an organized religion, connecting to nature, exploring energetic connections, practicing yoga, to name just a few. In therapy, I welcome you to explore how spirituality impacts your life and provide a safe place to process whatever your experiences are. Connecting with and making sense of our spirituality often leads to a more centred, grounded, and contented life.
